A federal jury convicted Lloyd Mack Royal, age 29, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, of: conspiracy to commit sex trafficking; sex trafficking of a minor; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; and distribution of drugs to persons under 21, related to a scheme to prostitute three minor females. Cristina Andres Perfecto of Nashville, Tenn., was sentenced late yesterday in federal court in Memphis to 190 months in prison for sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, sex trafficking of a juvenile and conspiracy, the Justice Department announced. Perfecto's co-defendant, Juan Mendez, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on June 27, 2008, after pleading guilty to child sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion. Perfecto and Mendez each admitted to fraudulently luring two young girls, including a 13 year-old, from rural Mexico to Tennessee with the intent of forcing them into prostitution. Read more... |

October 14, 2009 | Kansas City - Two Chinese nationals charged two years ago in a large sex trafficking operation in Johnson County apologized today to the court and the United States before a judge sent them to prison. Cheng Tang, 23, and Zhong Yan Liu, 37, were sentenced for their role in recruiting Asian women to Kansas City to participate in a prostitution ring. In that ring, dozens of women were rotated in and out of Johnson County massage parlors where they performed sexual acts on customers up to 14 hours a day, seven days a week. Read More... |

October 7, 2009 | Washington - A Moldovan national pleaded guilty today in federal court in Kansas City, Mo., for his role in a forced labor trafficking scheme that victimized workers in 14 states, the Justice Department announced. Frumusache is subject to a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison without parole, as well as a fine of up to $250,000 and an order of restitution. September 8, 2009 | Washington - The Justice Department announced today defendant Paul Raymond Green was sentenced late last week to 52 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his role in a scheme to prostitute minor females. Green, 23, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. Green admitted that he, through his co-conspirator, arranged on two separate occasions in 2007 to provide minor victims to an acquaintance who paid to have sex with the victims. Read more... |
